About Me

Abstract geometric artwork with warm tones and layered rectangles.

My background

As a professional archaeological illustrator of ancient Maya hieroglyphs and art for forty five years, barcode art, modern day hieroglyphs of a sort, became an initial step into rekindling my personal artwork. Recently, I've expanded into oil paintings on paper, and mosaic sculptures,.

Abstract painting with layered green, purple, and blue shapes and jagged edges.

My experience

For those wondering, my artist name is my given first names, Barbara Jo, tho professionally and  legally my name is Barbara Fash. I trained as a studio artist in painting sculpture, and ceramics. Forty-five years ago I began professionally documenting ancient sculptures in Central Mexico.

Abstract geometric artwork with a grid of black, white, and brown rectangles.

My vision

My art is personal, experimental, occasionally whimsical or ironic, and often inspired by the scenes and colors that pass before me each day.
